Italian road signs for the Patente B exam
Road signs are a large part of the theory exam. Most questions show a sign and make a statement about it. Recognising the group of a sign by its shape and colour already answers many statements.
Try 3 questionsThe main groups
Danger signs (segnali di pericolo): red-bordered triangles that warn of something ahead.
Prohibition signs (segnali di divieto): mostly red-bordered circles that forbid something.
Obligation signs (segnali di obbligo): blue circles that tell you what you must do.
Priority signs (segnali di precedenza): for example STOP and GIVE WAY, which say who goes first.
Indication signs (segnali di indicazione): information such as directions, places and services.
STOP or GIVE WAY?
At STOP you always stop completely, then give way. At GIVE WAY you slow down and stop only if a vehicle is coming. Our free lesson shows both with the official figures.
